Trying to install Office 2003

I am trying to install Microsoft office 2003 on XP SP2. But in the middle of
installation I get a message ...

" Fatal error during installation".

Does anyone knows how to fix this???

I have had same problem for about 3 days now, searched every newsgroup,
everything on MS, and the usual Google etc searches. So far no luck.
