Trying to open what appears to be a duplicate Word file with ~$ sy

Swede

My editing work on a Word document went completely away when Microsoft sent
an update and automatically rebooted my computer. I had not saved it I guess.
It may be that I can retrieve it, however, if I can open the Word file
starting with the symbols ~$. When I try to open, it says I need the
Microsoft Office XP Professional with Front Page Disk. Questions: where do I
get this disk or can I download from Microsoft? Is there another way to
retrieve my editing work?

You need to the CD that you use to install Word on this specific machine, which is the "Microsoft
Office XP Professional with Front Page" CD
