Trying to run append query to change the starting # of an autonumber field.

Hi,
I am Trying to run append query to change the starting #
of an autonumber field. I have created a temporary table
and entered a number in that field that I would like to
start with but I am having trouble running the append
query to change the starting #. I just need to know the
correct steps to take to do this.
