trying to save as .msg file !!

this should be an easy one for somebody!

i've just switched over to Outlook2003 on a windows XP machine. If I
open a new message using Outlook and then hit File>SaveAs the Save
As... box does not give me the option to save the file as a .msg file.

does anyone know how to get this option: or whether another file option
would suffice for creating a message template.

any help greatly appreciated

Turn off Word as your email editor. It doesn't support saving a message in the process of composition as an .msg file.
