trying to setup differnet email accounts and differnet inbox

I have 3 different email accounts on my COMCAST account. I would like to use
OUTLOOK to receive the email from all the COMCAST accounts, but put it in its
individual accouts INBOX, so that I reply, it replies from that particualar
COMCAST account.
When I use
Tools/Mail Setup/Send/Receive/Edit
on one of the accounts, my only option is
the default account. It will not allow me to select a different email inbox
to send/receive.
any help would be appreciated.

You can have only one system Inbox, but you can set up a rule to put mail in
sub folders you set up--like Jimmy's Inbox. Replies always go from the
address the email was sent to if you use the Reply button in the email. If
you're sending a new email, use the Accounts button to select the acct you
want to use. If it's not on the toolbar, customize it and put an Accts button
there for ease of use. You can only have one default acct.

What version of Outlook?

but given the option in
Tools/Mail Setup/Send/Receive/Edit
it looks as though Microsoft wants you to choose your inbox?
Especially since you are allowed to create diiferent *pst mailboxes?
I agree I could set my email with rules etc....
but that is a nuisance

Your other option is to create a separate mail profile for each account and
then each account will have its own completely distinct set of folders. You
switch profiles by shutting down and restarting Outlook, having set the
option to make Outlook prompt you for which profile to use when it starts.

Mozilla Thunderbird does this, but only has the functionality of Outlook
Express. I've had to move to Outlook 2k3 for the sync with my mobile. You'll
have to use rules to have your separate inboxes, as I have had to do.
