If you don't want this to happen only for certain paragraphs,
you can undo the autonumbering - just hit ctrl-z after OneNote
autonumbers your paragraph and you'll get back your one with the
period. You can toggle the behavior on and off in
tools->options->editing->"apply numbering/bullets to lists
automatically".
Thanks for the valuable hints.
Meanwhile I detected that there appears a "SmartTag" which makes
things even easier. ;-) ;-)
But as have the ear of a developer:
IMO a bit more conformity with Word would not hurt.
a) The "Format" drop-down menu in ON 07 has *two* menu items for
numbering and bullet-points, Word (at least 2003) has both under the
same menu-item.
b) Word opens a dialog box, ON uses the "Task-Area" (my translation
[sorry, my system speaks German]).
The construction in Word IMO is better as less screen real-estate is
used.
This is important especially when using ON on a TabletPC. In portrait
mode things get difficult this way.
And TabletPCs - as to my understanding - are a major area of concern
with ON and a major field in the market.
c) The Word dialog box for the selection of styles for numbering and
bullet points as the first item offers an "empty" style ("none" or
"without", sorry if translated wrong).
I would suggest to add this to the selection of styles in ON too.
AFAICS the latter could not be too difficult and might be implemented
until the Final.
Thanks again
