Hi Waldorfedu.

Symantec redesigned the 'control panel' for their 2007 product line.

If you right clicked on your Norton Antivirus 2007 icon and it brings up the Norton Protection Center "Main Window" check the
'settings' tab of the Norton Antivirus 2007 product.

If you can't bring up the main window by right clicking on the Norton icon then you can use Start=>All Programs=>Norton... to
bring up the main settings window.

I right click on Norton but in Norton 2007 I cannot find "Options" or "Misc"
- thanks >>

Hi Waldorfedu,

1. In the Windows System tray click on the Norton 2007 Protection Center status icon and switch to the 'Norton Antivirus' tab.

2. In Norton Antivirus 2007, Scroll down below the 'Email and Messaging' choice to 'Additional Options' and select the 'Virus and
Spyware Protection Options'.

3. When that dialog comes up choose from the 'Advanced Options' settings on the left side of the screen and select the
'Miscellaneous' category.

4. Once in the 'Miscellaneous' dialog uncheck the choice for
[x] Turn on scanning for Microsoft Office documents'

Yes, I can open "Settings" ok but the headings I've got are "Basic Security"

Yes, it's another path to the same destination <g>. Watch out for that 'Use All Defaults' or 'Page defaults' button(s) at the
bottom of the Protection Options choice <g>. It will turn the Office Plug-in back on (no longer named 'Office Plug-in' in the
dialog).
