How do you turn off shared calendar reminders while leaving your personal
calendar reminders on?
As far as I recall, you cannot get reminders from shared calendars without a
third-party add-in.

Version of Outlook? Outlook 2007 can fire reminders from more folders but I
thought it only worked on folders in the mailbox, not shared folders.

It works with loaded PST files in Outlook 2007. That's related to the
instant search. You need that running and you have to set it to also index
all the loaded PST files. It still won't work with delegate mailboxes or
public folders.
