turning off Sharepoint Services in Front Page

S

Suzanne

I have turned off the Sharepoint Services feature in Front Page by going to
the page options..authoring dialog box and unchecking the Sharepoint Services
box. I then go to publish the site and it is still giving me the error
message:
" An error occurred accessing your Sharepoint Services site files.
Authors-if authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for
this server's web site. Webmasters- please see the server applications event
log for more details".

I don't want to use Sharepont Services! Can anyone help me??

In this case, FP treats SharePoint and the FP extensions as one and the same under this dialog, if
publishing to a server that has the FP extensions.

Turn it back on, if publish to a server that has the FP extensions.

I already tried that, both on, then off, and I keep getting the same error
message.

You should contact your ISP and have then repair or re-install the
extensions.

Yes, I am using choosing the "front page or Share point services" when
choosing the server type.

I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling Front Page extensions on my server
and it did not help.

"please see the server applications event log for more details"

Means you should contact your host to look in the event logs to check for
problems.

When you go to the SharePoint Admin Pages you need to make sure you have
created a FrontPage only site and not one "extended" with SharePoint.
