Two computers - same file

Could I somehow work on a same file from two computers
(two Excel instances), so that all the changes in a
document would be seen in both program instances in real
time?

Read about sharing workbooks in excel's help.

You might want to pay attention to "Features that are unavailable in shared
workbooks", too.

And I don't believe that shows changes in real time.

Perhaps the OP needs to explore a database server.

Yep.

I should have added that the changes would be updated after saves by each
concurrent user.

(there's another option under Tools|Share Workbook|Advanced tab that can set it
on a timed basis, too, but I believe that's after saves, too.)

(I thought that after reading all the restrictions that come with a shared
workbook, then the OP would never use it <bg>.)

But the database suggestion is much more useful.

I don't know which version the OP is using, but Office 2000 includes a
version of SQL Server on the CD. It does not show up as an option in
the installation, but if you explore the CD you can install it.

And I don't believe that shows changes in real time.

Perhaps the OP needs to explore a database server.
