two of the same personal foders in outlook today

I have two of the same personal foders in outlook today and more anoyingly
under "all mail folders"( on the left of the screen) They have the same
sub-folder struckture and if I place an e-mail in one sub folder it is also
in the other sub
folder. I have been unable to get rid of one of these sets of folders
example:
-in Mail under All Mail Folders (on the right) I have two folders called
personal folders
-under each of those I have all the same subfolders including inbox
recycling and other work folders
-if I plave something in one of these work folders in either personal folder
it shows up in the same sub folder under the other personal folder
Bottom line. I only wnat one set of sub-folders under one folder called
personal folder

You've corrupted you mail profile. Use Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>Add
to create a new one and point it at your existing PST.

I did everything except direct it to my *.pst I know where it is but don't
know how to direct it there

Control Panel>Mail>Data Files>Add. Select the type of the old PST and click
OK. Browse to the old PST, select it, and click OK.
