Two questions: restarting failed d/l and seeing/changing what d/l

I have two questions:

I am using Entourage X on Mac OS 10.2.6 with a dialup account. Is there a
way to restart failed downloads(when the connection drops during
downloading). I had a client send me a 6.7 mb file that failed once at 5.2
and once a 6.1mb. Do I have to redownload the entire thing?

Also is there anyway to see what is in my inbox prior to d/l and rearrange
the order and/or keep it from d/l? All my email is now backed up behind this
monster d/l.

TIA

No, you can't do this with the POP3 protocol - there is no resume command.

In the account settings, under the 'Options' tab, set the account to allow
online access. The sever will now show up as a separate icon in the folder
listing. Click on this and the header in your account will download, and you
can select & download whichever mails you want. You could also delete the
troublesome one here without downloading it.

An alternative method is to set a size limit on the account (I suggest
around 150k). Then, when a mail arrive s larger than this just the header
will be downloaded and you will not be blocked from accessing the rest of
your mail. At any time you like you can choose to download the rest of the
mail or delete it from the server by holding down the mouse button over the
'online status' icon of that message in a message listing.
