Two text boxes on one connector?

I understand that connectors have a built in label that can be moved with the
yellow diamond. Can I add another label or yellow diamond text box to a
connector so that I can have two text boxes for one connector?

My goal is to add a text label to both sides of a connection that sticks
with the proper connection when the nodes are moved around. Specifically, I
am diagramming a WAN of routers with a semi-mesh topology. I would like to
document the physical ports on both sides of each connection

I have tried using the Connection Point Tool to add a connection point to
the line and then snap a callout to it, but this is inelegant and requires me
to go back to this tool to move the connection point when the line is scaled.
The location of the yellow diamond is also scaled relative to the lengths of
the line, but I don not have to go to the toolbar to change tools to move it.

Is it possible to Edit Master Shape and add another yellow diamond to the
shape? (because just adding another text box does not work)

I have tried grouping another text box with a connector, but it does not
scale properly

Maybe I am approaching this incorrectly.

You will need to "convert" your connector master shape into a group shape,
then you can add a second text block shape.
Do not group ... choose convert.

So I copied and pasted a line connector into my favorites. Renamed it and
right-clicked and selected Edit Master Shape. Selected the line and clicked
Shape -> Grouping -> Convert to Group. Then placed a text box and closed and
updated the new shape.

When I dragged this new shape into my diagram, it was no longer a connector,
it was just a rectangle shape. I could select the individual shapes inside
and move them. I assigned both ends of the connector to nodes and then moved
the text box to where I wanted it. When I moved the nodes, the text inside of
the yellow diamond (connector label) moved with the nodes and connector
properly, but the added text box did not move.

How can I link another text box to move with a connector?

I have uploaded a simple diagram of what I would like to accomplish at
http://joemako.com/files/router_example.vsd (saved as a Visio 2002 diagram)

You will see that as you move the router nodes abound all the connectors and
text move accordantly. The Issue I run into is when I move the nodes close
together, the text moves under the nodes. I understand that the nodes are in
front, so that I would then need to move the callout boxes and use the
connection tool move the blue x and re-snap.

Is there a better way to do what I want?
