two versions of XP on one computer

My associates computer has been slow lately. I defragmented files today. He
has XP Home Edition 2002 on the desktop, but I think in then tried to load XP
Student & Teacher Edition 2003. How do I check to see if he has one w/ part
of another and how do I correct this issue?

There are no such things as "Office XP Home Edition 2002" or
"Office XP Student & Teacher Edition 2003". What software are
you actually talking about?
