Typing Corrections and or Keyboard Issues

I will be typing and email or a word document, while in the middle of typing
a word, for some reason the cursor goes to the beginning of a different line,
it jumps all over the page, not to where I was typing. I have no clue what
happened. I just got a new hard drive and my co. reinstalled word.

Does it happen only in Word?

It used to happen to me when I had first started working on laptops... I
then realized that I was touching the TouchPad while typing...
