typing document

Janet Brown

When I am typing, the cursor suddenly goes up two or
three lines and begins typing there rather than where I
am orginally typing. Same thing can happen when
deleting. The cursor jumps elsewhere and, thus, makes
unwanted deletions rather than remaining and deleting at
the correct place in the document. I have just made all
the pertinent updates for Word Office 2002. Will that
correct this problem?

Do you have Speech Recognition enabled? This sometimes picks up stray sounds
and interprets them as commands. Also, if you have a laptop with a touchpad,
inadvertently brushing the touchpad while typing can have this effect.

I have the same problem, and I have been exceptionally
careful to avoid touching the touchpad while I am typing.
I do not have Speech Recognition enabled.

Are you sure that you do not have speech recognition enabled in either Word
or Windows? What happens if you disconnect the microphone from your
computer?
