Typing in file name in the 'save as' dialog box is very slow

This is only happening in Office (checked Word and Excel - it did this
/ tried in notepad and it does not do this).

When you go file / save as and the save as dialog box opens and you
start to type the name of the file that you want to use, there is a
2-10 second delay from hitting a letter on the keyboard and it
appearing.

So a quick save as takes much longer than it should. More of a
nuisance then anything, but I want to get it fixed. I tried the detect
and repair and have all the office updates, but still have the problem.

Have not found much out on Google or MS site. Help?

I am having the very same problem with one of our customers... did you get to
the bottom of this? OR can anyone shed some light please?
