typing on stationary line without words following the line moving

I'm trying to type on stationary lines in a word doc. Unfortunantly the words
following the stationary line move to the right each time I key in a letter.
Is there a way to "freeze" the document to prevent this from happening?

Not sure exactly what you are trying to do but here are some possibilities to
look into - and I am sure there are more

1) Create a Form

2) Can you get away with simply switching from Insert mode to overtype mode
(See INSERT key on keyboard)

3) Experiment putting your fixed text into Text Boxes (see drawing toolbar)
This may still move. Look at creating the text box in a header and specifying
word wrap of say 'tight'
