typing over a space

i am trying to make a doc where i put space in that can be typed over later.
When I use space bar or anything else it moves along when i type later full
stops wont let me type over it can any one help please.

You have a better chance of getting a response if you post this in a Word
group rather than a general Office group. Offhand, it seems you need to
create a form.

From your description you are in the insert mode vice the overtype mode. In
Word 2007, go to Word Options, Advanced where you can select the keyboard
insert key to toggle between insert mode and overtype mode or set always in
overtype mode. In other versions of Word, just use the insert key to toggle
modes.
