U.W.- Identical Formatted cells in two xls-sheets in one book

Dear all,

still in my diploma thesis. Thanks to Frank Kabel for his
last answer- it was a very useful tip.

The situation:
I have got two xls-sheets in one book, sheet A and B with
a huge amount of numbers.

In sheet A there is a conditional formatting of the
numbers. The result is that the numbers in one cell have
the colors red, yellow or green.

In sheet B there are the same numbers as in sheet A but
for a different view in another order and so on.
But the value of a cell is a reference of a cell from
sheet A, e.g. in sheet B,cell B1: =A!B1

Now my question:
I want to "take over" the same format as in the cell of
sheet A to sheet B so that the colors are identical. Is
there any command to transfer the format in the reference?

- Select the range containing your numbers in sheet A
- Copy (>Edit >Copy, or Ctrl C or Copy icon)
- Go to sheet B select the same range (or only the 1st
cell)
- >Edit >Paste Special, select "Formats", OK

The conditional formating is copied from sheet A to Sheet
B

thanks for your answer.
But:
This solution is only a static one.
My problem: In Sheet B is a reference,
and the link should be dynamic ...
That means: A one-time copy including format is not enough.
I need a solution where the reference including format is
in sheet B.

Hi
auto-updating formtas between cells is not possible with
formulas. Even using event macros won't work.

The only solution would be to use the OnTime method and
check every few seconds if the format has changed. But
this would slow down excel significantly.

So no real solution for this!
