Ugly JPGs from Powerpoint

M

Mark

Whenever I save a Powerpoint slide as a JPG, it comes out, well, just
plain ugly; that is shadows around everything, solid colors aren't
solid, etc. Is there anyway to eliminate these effects?

Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
Depending on what you want to do with your JPG and you cheat, but going to
page set up and doubling the size of the PPT slide. File-> Page Set Up...
the default for "On-Screen-Show" is 10 x 7.5. If you double both to maintain
aspect ratio... 20x15 and then save as JPG's you can export your slides and
avoid some of the artifacts (little islands around everything, and solids
bleeding, etc...) After the jpgs are exported you can "undo" or reset back
to standard size.

Wow, that's a brilliant solution. Thanks! I'm going to use it myself.
Does it also work when using PPT's "compress" feature?

I've used this technique myself, but be warned that changing the page size
setup can cause some strange sizing issues on some slides. So be sure to
look through them for oddities before doing the Save As <image>.

And FWIW, I prefer PNGs to JPGs. The text output is smoother.
