Event Logs can be access via a number of ways
try Start/Run/eventvwr.msc or,
Right click My Computer, click Manage
The ULS log by default will be at
C:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\web server extensions\12\logs
It they are not on the default path, open central admin, operations tab,
diagnostic logging and check the path for the trace log.
