Ultimate vs. Professional

M

Michael Pokriefka

I bought a pc with Office 2007 professional. Since then I've obtained an MSDN
subscription that gives me access to Office 2007 Ultimate. I have a couple of
questions:

Is there sufficient difference that I should move to Ultimate from
Professional?

If I should decide to move, should I uninstall Professional first or is the
Ultimate install smart enough to know what it should update?

Thanks.

If you want OneNote, Groove or InfoPath, go for it.

Argh. Sometimes I hate Microsoft. There used to be a page on Office Online
that showed the different versions along with features such as information
rights management and business contact manager for outlook and stuff like
that. I can't find it now.

I think Pro does not have the information rights mgmt options. Ultimate
does.

I don't know the exact answer, but if I were you and decided to install
Ultimate, I'd uninstall Pro first. I can't even tell you *why* exactly I'd
do it, I just would. (Sometimes those gut-level things are just hard to
articulate, you know?)

I like that one too - that's why I keep it around. It's easy to refer
to.

The chart on that page is a hyperlink to the Office site at Microsoft
too. :)
