Ultra slow excel

Hello,

Since I don't know exactly when, when I work in Excel, regularly, like every five minutes, when I want to insert text in a cell, I have the multicolor wheel for a long period, like one or two minutes, blocking the software.

I have the same behaviour when I go in the file menu and look for recent document. It is like if a preference or sometthing like this was corrupted.

Any idea? Like a cash to flush or something like this?

Since you don't disclose specific version information the first things to
verify are that:

OS X is fully updated,
Office is fully updated,
Disk Permissions have been Repaired, and
You've restarted your Mac.

Once that info has been confirmed other things can be examined if necessary,
but if those issues haven't been addressed it's pointless to go any further.
