Unable to access error

In an 180MB Powerpoint slide show, the slide show is worked on for a while
then saved, but the error "unable to access." appears. At that point the
slide show cannot be saved as the current name or under any other name.
This slice show was created in PP 97 and PP XP. This exact scenario has
happened twice on two different computers which ruled out a hardware
problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jan

Have you checked to be sure that it isn't Read Only? If it's on a CD it is
Read Only. If it's on your hard drive, right click on the file in Windows
Explorer and select Properties from the popup menu. Is the box next to Read
Only checked?

I think I solved the problem. I checked out KB document 285517 where it
talks about the same error related to a Visual Basic Object problem. When
I followed the artcle, I did find four VB objects that seemed to be linked
to a network drive (?). I copied all the slides to a new presentation (the
bad objects did not copy) and the presentation was able to be saved.

Thanks for your help,

Jan
