unable to add page errors

I am unable to add/insert page numbers using the release version of Word
2007. When I select the footer and then "Page Layout"->"Header &
Footer"->"Page Number" nothing I click on will insert a page number.

When I checked the Add-Ins under "Word Options" several Add-ins including
"Headers, Footers, and Watermarks" are listed under Inactive Application
Add-ins. I ran Diagnostics which fixed something I was unable to identify.
When I restarted Word and tried to insert a page number again Word dinged and
minimized to the task bar.

If you start Word in Safe Mode, can you add the page numbers? Hold down the
COntrol Key and launch WOrd: this will start it in Safe Mode.

Thanks for the reply. I had read about a fix by deleting building blocks.docx
and tried but that did not fix the problem until I realized there were 2
copies of the file on my system. Deleting the one under my profile and then
restarting Word fixed the problem. Thanks again for the reply.

Just love it when there are two files instead of just one!

My Building Blocks.docx just disappeared completly from my system... I
guess I will try the repair thing then.

The diagnose thing did nothing .. dont even bother with that .. .But i
found the Building Blocks.docx ater some manual clicking (Search didnt
want to find it even though i indeicated to find hidden files)
After i deleted it (like you guys said) it worked fine..
