Unable to attach files to e-mail

Just recently, I've developed a problem with not being able to attach any
files to my e-mails. Whenever I try to attach a file, the program stops
responding. I tried going to my webmail and attaching from there, but it just
shows the "attaching file" dialogue forever.
I have tried using several different files from the "My Documents" folder.
I've tried using the repair option. I've tried un-installing and reinstalling
my Microsoft Office 2003. My virus/malware scans show nothing. Any other
suggestions?
