unable to change / delete sounds in outlook

Hi,

I am using Windows XP.

Most of my functions or commands in outlook have a sound associated with
them and i cannot turn them off. I only want a sound played for new mail and
nothing else.

Of course, i can turn off my speakers but i don't want to do that.

i have checked in sounds & devices in the control panel and even selected
the "no sounds" option / theme, but i still get sounds.

I also have this problem in my excel spreadsheets where adding a new column,
deleting a row etc produces lots of annoying sounds.

can anyone help me please?

thanks,

nick

It sounds like you have the Office Sounds addin installed.
Verify that you have it installed Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs and
uninstall it.
