Unable to Create Database Connection

Peter D

Hello
I am trying to create a data entry page in FP2002
I create the form, and select Form Properties, Send to Database. It then asks me to create the database connection. I go through the steps to do that and everything is fine. I verify the connection, and it verifies properly. Then I click OK and it takes me back to the Options For Saving Results to Database page, but the Connection is not saved in the drop down box. If I click OK, it tells me "A valid database connection is required". It seems to refuse to save the connection information
This occurs with type of connection, Access, DSN, SQL. It occurs on existing forms and newly created forms. It occurs if i create a new web and form from scratch. There is a global.asa file and it appears to have the correct connection information
What am I doing wrong here
Thanks

Try creating your connection from Tools > Web Settings >
Database.

Do you current have a web open (File Menu | Open web) and not just a file, prior to attempting this?

I tried that and it imports properly, but then when I go to Tools > Web Settings > Database, the connection is not listed
Seems like something is wrong with FP itself. Maybe a reinstall is needed

Do you have an existing database that you could import into your web site
Try this: http://www.spiderwebwoman.com/tutorials/create_dbc.ht
