Unable to Create OLAP Cube using Project Server web access

Hi,

I am unable to CREATE an OLAP cube using "Update Now"
button in Microsoft Project Web Access. I get the
following error, when I attempt to do so:
"The cube scheduled to be built on 27-06-03 at 5:56 PM
failed.

(-2147221387) Cannot connect to the Analysis server on
computer 'ARYABHATT'. Connection to the server is lost "

I have ensured that I have all the permissions and access
rights given for the user creating the cubes (myself in
this case). Also, the user (me) is a member of OLAP
Administrators and Administrators. I have tried ecerything
that is suggested by Microsoft Knowledge Base, and on the
newsgroups but in vain...

Could anyone please tell me what is it that I have to do
here?
Thanks for your co-operation in advance...

Thanks and regards,
Ashish.

Ashish:

Have you followed the steps in the installation guide (pjsvr10.chm) titled
"Add users to cube database roles in Analysis Services?" You must be using
Windows Authentication for this.

Hello Gary,

Thanks for responding. I believe, I was not able to convey
my problem situation accurately earlier. As mentioned in
my earlier email too, I am first of all unable to BUILD
the cube using Project Server web access. When I click on
the "Update Now" button (for building the cube the very
1st time), I get an error message stating -
"The cube scheduled to be built on 27-06-03 at 5:56 PM
failed.
(-2147221387) Cannot connect to the Analysis server on
computer 'ARYABHATT'. Connection to the server is lost ".
This message appears under the "Current Cube Status"
header of Web access. And prior to getting the message in
web access, I also get an error dialog stating "Unable to
connect to the OLAP Server specified".

I have checked for all the access permissions for the user
attempting to build the cube, and he is indeed a member of
Administrators and OLAP Administrators group.
The "ViewDrop" folder's security permissions are also
correctly SET. I have referred to the related KB articles
and the information available on "Microsoft Help and
support" sites. Clearly, nothing seems to help me get rid
of this problem?

Before I forget, One more thing worth mentioning is that I
am perfectly able to build and process cubes using
the "Analysis Services" directly (No project Server
intervention).

I would highly appreciate your help in this regard. Maybe,
I might be missing some minor step. Can we attempt to
resolve this step by step? Please, let me know what can be
done, because I am desperate in getting this thing to work
correctly somehow. Waiting in anticipation.

Thanks and regards,
Ashish Sardey.
