Unable to create presentation - items and wording faded in toolbar

when I click on faded toolbar, nothing works. unable to create new
docutment. only option given was "page set up"...that's it! please help.

Were you able to find a resolution to your issue? Which toolbar are you
trying to click on that's disabled?
