HOW DO I GET ALL THE CELLS IN A SPREADSHEET TO THE THE SAME SIZE FOR DATA
SORT TO WORK

FIrst, stop shouting. What is this, 1981?

Next, it isn't cell size, it's that (most likely) you have merged cells.
Select the region, pull down Format/Cells and make sure the "merge
cells" box is cleared.

There most certainly is that option. Use Format-Cells and look in the
alignment tab. Make sure merge cells is not marked.
