I thought I should let you know, and anyone else that is interested, that I
have managed to solve my problem. The dreaded apostrophe was indeed at
fault, but not in the name of the linked table, nor the name of the database,
but in the name of the folder in which the database was stored.
Now that has been removed, I seem to be able to link and unlink tables at
will.
