Unable to Delete Users in Project Server 2003

I'm trying to delete users from Project Server but I'm getting the
following error: VBScript Request status: 9129 =>
rsExceptionRemoveUserFromSTS

This is happening in all of our environments and not sure of the cause.
I tried removing users in the following ways and it always hangs for
a long time and then comes back with the vbscript error code of 9129:
Admin page in PWA, pscleaner utility tool, and directly in the
Resource Pool.

Any ideas of suggestions would be really appreciated.

Hi Drakkar,

I'm assuming that you are logging in as the Project Server
Administrator, but I don't believe that your credentials are also
associated as the WSS Administrator because of the
rsExceptionRemoveUserFromSTS error that you receive.

Check to make sure and get back to us
Many thanks,

Hi,

Yes, my domain account is an Administrator in 'Project Server' and on
every physical server (both Project Server (Web/DB) and our Sharepoint
Servers(Web/DB) that we use. It happens with my own domain account and
also using the Project Server Administrator account.

The strange thing is after getting the error - most of the time it does
seem to actually delete the user, but there is still something wrong
somewhere to get the error every single time. There are no problems
accessing/creating sharepoint sites through project server. The only
problem is the deletion of user accounts (both people with 'inactive'
Active Directory accounts and 'active' Active Directory accounts).

Thanks!

I forgot one thing. Yes I am also the Sharepoint Administrator and
have full access.

Hi Drakkar,

Have any of the users you're trying to delete been added using the AD
Sync tool?

Try setting the Clear User AD GUID on the user and see if that works

Good Luck

I appreciate the input but we aren't even using the AD sync tool. The
resources in our resource pool are created and updated programatically
using the EDM tool of Project Server which performs additions and
updates via XML files. This is where they are assigned to the AD
Account.

We have only one small environment that can delete users but it takes
like 5 minutes to delete one user - and only works thru the Admin in
PWA not the pscleaner tool. Is this normal that it would take so long
to delete a user? I heard it might go out to every project sharepoint
site to try and remove the user - Is this correct?

In either case - we still have the issue with several environments.

Thanks!
