Unable to display folder message in Inbox and can't sent or retrie

The Inbox folder page is showing gray and has a message "unable to display
folder". I can access all other folders that I have created. I tried to use
"Detect and Repair" but I get a response that the installation source for
this product is not available and I need to verifty that it exists. I have
tried to find the .pst file; however, I am a novice and I am not sure how to
do this. Outlook was installed on my computer when I purchased it.
Also I can't send and receive. I get a message saying the Operation Failed.

Any ideas?

Did you try resetting the view?
Send and Receive errors are often the result of a bad *.srs file- locate it
and rename or delete then restart outlook. See
http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/filepath.htm if you need help finding
the file.
