My entourage has stopped working - does not send or receive email. I am trying to clean the cach by opening the Cisco Exchange folder menu however the tab folder properties is grey out so I can't get to the next step. The status of the cisco exchange shows (not connected) however I am conncected to our intranet through a VPN...

What is the "Cisco Exchange folder menu"? That's not part of Entourage.

If your Exchange account shows "(Not Connected)" then you need to
determine why Entourage is not connecting before you can empty the cache.

Hi Bill,

How do I determine why suddenly after 2 months it was working perfectly suddenly Entourage does not connect to the exchange server... I have checked all the configurations nothing has changed...
My email datafile is 13.8 Giga - could this be the source of the problem? any other Idea?

Tks

Shimon

Hi Shimon!

You check for what has changed.

If you've changed nothing in your configuration for Entourage or with
your computer then you need to begin looking at your network connection
and then the server itself. Has the address changed? Has the
authentication method changed?

If you copy the Exchange Server address that you're using in Entourage
and paste that into a web browser such as Safari or Firefox then can you
access the server? If a web browser works then Entourage will work.

I have a couple of pages here that were written for Entourage 2004 but
will apply to Entourage 2008:

"Connecting Entourage to an Exchange Server at work"
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeatwork.html>

"Connecting Entourage to an Exchange Server from Home"
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeathome.html>

Hope this helps!
