Unable to Import Timesheets and No Tasks Display on My Tasks

If you have resources with assigned tasks but the tasks don't display
on My Tasks or
for whom the Import Timesheet Icon is "greyed out", i.e. inoperative,
verify these resources have an assigned Status Manager.

I encountered this situation and couldn't find any reference online to
the cause so I thought I would share my experience.
