Unable to open damaged file

Hi
I am working in Microsoft Project 98. I created a MPP.
During modifications, the program hung. So I ended the
task but i am unable to open the same mpp file again. I
throws the message
"The file "AITE_WinRunner_Phoenix_Plan" cannot be opened.
The file may be in use by another program, damaged, or in
a file format that Microsoft Project cannot use.
Wait a moment, and then try opening again.
If the file is damaged, try opening a backup file."

Can anybody please tell me how to recover this damaged
file. Even repairing this file just to get the raw data is
going to save me a lot of effort

Hi Seema,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

I think you're out of luck I know of no way to recover a corrupt file -
perhaps you'll make sure you have a back up in future Maybe some one
knows better!
