As of yesterday, I have been unable to open a particular
Excel file, although I am still able to open others. It
says it is opening but task manager says it's not
responding.
A message popped up from my Sygate firewall saying
"Microsoft Excel for Windows (EXCEL.EXE)is trying to
broadcast to (224.0.0.22). Do you want to allow this
program to access the network?"
so I clicked 'Yes' and the file opened.
Once again today, I am unable to open the file - I have
received the same message and replied 'Yes' but this time
the magic hasn't worked. Sometimes I get the message and
sometimes I don't but either way I can't access the file
and the Excel.EXE is always running.
I would be grateful for any ideas..would you believe it
it's just opened about 20 minutes after saying yes to this
message. Still would like your advice as to what's going
on.
I have tried turning my firewall off and there are no
links in the document that I am aware of, unless I have
created them by accident and if that is the case I will
need to know how to locate and remove them.
Thanks.
