Unable to open PDF after using 2007 Save As PDF Option

Since converting to Adobe Reader 9, we are unable to open any PDFs that are
created with the Save As option in Office 2007.
I've installed Adobe 8.1.3 on a PC for testing and they open fine.
And I can open PDFs that were created prior to having 9 installed.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I've reread your first statement over several times, and it seems
puzzling. let me see if I have it straight.

If you Save As PDF from Word with Adobe Reader 8.1.3 installed, the
resulting files will open with either 8.1.3 OR 9.0 or 9.1 Reader.

BUT

Once you install Adobe Reader 9.0 or 9.1 then the file produced by Word
using Save As PDF, you can not open the PDF file with Adobe 9.0 or 9.1
BUT they will open in Reader 8.1.3.

Is that correct interpretation? What error messages appear and also have
you checked them against the Adobe Help site?

Here's what I ended up doing.

The documents in question (3 PPT and 1 Excel file) I recreated. The PPTs
were org. charts and the Excel file, was just a simple small data file.
I recreated the Org. Charts and then saved as PDF and published out to
website. Now they open fine.
I am guessing the documents were corrupt or there was something small about
them that Adobe Reader 9.1 no longer liked.
