unable to open powerpoints from websites with PowerPoint 2003

I have Powerpoint 2003, but I am unable to open
powerpoint presentations from the internet. I use to
only have powerpoint viewer, and I could open them. Now
that I have installed PowerPoint 2003, I can't even open
them. I then downloaded from Microsoft the update to
download older versions and the PowerPoint viewer again,
but I am still unable to open the files.
Any suggestions?

What happens? Do you get an error message of any kind?

I suspect it's your file associations.
