Unable to open read only

Windows XP user has an Excel 2003 spreadsheet open. Mac
user (with Office 2004) is attempting to view the file.
Error message says: cannot be accessed. The file may be
read only or you may be trying to access a read only
location. Or the server the document is stored on may
not be responding. User must choose cancel or retry.

Any suggestions?

Are the permissions correct? Have you just upgraded to SP2? Is remote access
allowed? I just tried it and it works fine. The Mac user opens the file
which opens correctly as read only.
