Unable to open URL links in messages after assigning mail sub-folders

I recently set up rules to move new incoming mail to
various sub-folders. After doing this, I am now unable
to open links to web pages in Internet Explorer. I have
made no other changes.

I now have to open my browser (Internet Explorer v6.0),
instead of simply clicking on the underlined link and
Internet Explorer opening upon clicking the link.

However, I have noticed a few links do open my browser by
clicking on the link, without opening the browser first.
The majority of links do not respond.
