Unable to open web

Upgading to a newer computer. Old web site created by me and published with
FP 2000. Now using XP pro with windows(2002) Looks to me like 2000 with
some new bells and whistles. Wanted to edit my site and 2002 would not open
my web. no problem, opened ftp and then attempted to open files on web/
negative results. Downloaded files, edited and attempte to publish web,
apparrently not a good move. Attempted to open web again got the infamous-
the file you are trying to reach is not accessibale, is password protected or
has "/ or"\ etc. At 1st, site appears online then diappears-404 error. had
ISP reset extensions, pinged address and got what looked like and old dns.
Had ISP refresh extensions and pinged again showed correct address. ISP says
files gone ( I knew that ,they are on my drive) and files starting with _,
and _vti_bin are all that remain. I called the guys that built this unit but
when they told me to run my ad aware program I decided I'd better leave them
out of this! Now I'm no computer wiz but i did build a pretty nice site and
manage it for 5 yrs. I 've tired adding it as a new network place, opening
the page in MSIE and editing and opening the web to no avail. Can anyone
smarter than me get me started on what I need to to do to get my site back
online. There is at least a years supply of our best varieties of honey for
the one who unlocks this secret. My isp tech is on the verge of a nervous
breakdown. I'm getting a little flustered myself. Thanks guys, I appreciate
your time! I'm locking myself in with this computer over the weekend and not
coming out until this storm is over.
Thanks,
Beeman
