unable to open word 2003 documents in 2007 Beta 2 Technical Refres

I've been using Office 2007 Beta and creating Word 2003 compatible docs in
it. After upgrading using 2007 Beta Technical Refresh I can no longer open
any Word 2003 docs.

If you can't open any documents at all, then you should switch off NAV's
integration into Office. See the File not Found, File not available
section on my B2TR issues page.

I did switch off the NAV integration but was still getting messages
suggesting NAV problems or in case of word document not found. i was trying
to open office 2003 versions. however, will try again after going through
your B2TR issues page.

Your problem is related to Symantec’s AntiVirus scanning your documents when
Word opens. The solution is to open the AntiVirus control panel and disable
the scan function related to Word. You will find this function under the
heading miscellaneous. Just remove the Word san check from the box; then
reboot. I suspect other virus programs have similar options.

Let’s give MS a break we have come a long way from MS Dos and Windows 3.11.
