Unable to open workgroup templates

I get the error "unable to open template in workgroup
template" when I try to create a new document. The
workgroup templates are on a server and I modified the
workgroup path to point to that folder. I am using Win
2000 and Word 97. I can navigate to the template file and
open it by clicking on it without a problem, but I can't
get it to open through workgroup so I can create a new
document based on the template. Any help is appreciated.

What do you mean by, "... but I can't get it to open through workgroup..."?
To open the file you should be using File, New and selecting the template.

Robert

Check that if you are using Norton Anti Virus that the Office Add-in option
is disabled. Otherwise, check in Tools, Options, File Locations that the
patch to the Workgroup template is set using UNC path and not a mapped
drive.
