Unable to play animated gifs

I've been unable to get PP for Office 2008 to play animated gifs. Is there some way to get it to do that?

Hi,

Treat the gif files as movies. Use Insert > Movie > From File.

I tried this. My animated gif still doesn't play as it did in 2007. Is there some other setting to try?

Hi Robin,
Are you saying that if you insert the animated gif as a movie, then it
still doesn't animate in your movie? Gifs not animating when inserted as a
picture is a known issue (see thread "GIF animations" starting 2/9/08).
