Hi Lynn,

Probably, your are connected on the server with a user name which has not
the authorization to publish a project.

Lynn,

May be the project is not an Enterprise project, but only a workgroup
project.
Check it in PWA : Admin / Manage Enterprise features / Clean up Microsoft
Project Server database

Hope this helps,

Lynn,
Before to do that, you have to "import" the project file in the enterprise :
Tools / Enterprise options / Import project to enterprise....

i have imported the project file successfully to the project server, but
when i click on
"collaborate" -> "publish" -> "All information" the same error occurs.
can i know what is the function of publish ?

G

Gérard Ducouret

MaryLynn,

The function of publish consist of 'pushing' the project data into PWA so
that all the users/resources with access rights can see their tasks via PWA,
without MS Project Professionnal.
PS : In what country are you? I can see a time lag +08 on your messages. I'm
in Paris (Time lag +2)

Sincerely,

Did you try to import the project under "Tools ->
Enterprise Opetions->import project to enterprise"

Sorry you are still having this problem Lynn.

Will you try creating a simple project with one or two tasks and then
publish this project?

If that doesn't work, go into PWA --> Admin and create a new Project
Server user and "Add All" groups to that user. Then go into Project
Pro and create a new Project Server login account for that user. Then
try creating and publishing another simple two task project.

Basically I just want to know if publishing works since it is possible
there is some weird problem with the project you are importing.

If those two suggestions don't work, let us know and we will try to
help you more.

So what is different between the user you created and the original user
you were working with? Can you notice any pattern of one being able to
publish projects the other can't?
