Unable to publish

I have published to my site and updated it several times. This week I was going to update it again and when I entered my name and password it would come back and ask for them again. I contacted my ISP and they said everything was correct and advised me to use an ftp. I used smart ftp and was able to update using the same name and password. My provider does not have a clue. Does anyone have a suggestion

Thank

It sounds as if the FrontPage extensions may be
corrupt.
If you were trying to publish using http://yourweb.com
and it wouldn't accept your username and password,
Have your host repair the extensions and then try it.

If your site has the FP SE your "advice" from your host to FTP just clobbered the FP SE on your site, so you will no longer be able
to publish using http in FP
- and none of your components requiring the FP SE (forms, search, counters) will work

Have the Host reapply the FP SE, open your Online site in FP and run Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks, then close the online site in FP
and open the local site in FP to try publishing from FP again
