Unable to send test message

Up until today, when using my Outlook 2003, I was able to send email. Now it
does not. When I test the email account, it logs on to everything except it
states that I failed to send a test message. It states that I need to verify
my address. I have but no joy. I have disabled Norton and Zone Alarm. The
other address from different servers work fine.

thanks,

Just to add to my earlier note. I switch to Cox to send an email and it does
fine. I go to the email accounts, Cox goes right on through and tells me I
have made a successful test email, but with Outlook before it sends the
email it says the above caption that it was unsuccessful, please check my
email address.

again, thanks,

The Test feature in Office XP and 2003 is not always accurate. I've set up
email accounts with several ISP's and have gotten the same fail message on
occasion but my messages do go through. Rely on your own test instead of the
Wizard and see what happens. You may save yourself a lot of aggravation.

Barry is right - what sort of error do you get when you try to actually
send a message instead of using the test button?

I found my answer guys. It appears that unfortunately my Norton tends to at
times blocks my sending messages. When I disabled it it went ok. Then I
enabled it a day later it was fine including the test message. Don't know
what to make of it.

If you have Norton set to check any program for viruses before you run it,
there's really not much point in scanning your email for viruses. I'd just
turn off the email scanner permanently...
